Our friends and fellow local band City of Women are funding their new record on Kickstarter. (Check out City of Women on YouTube.) They are hoping for $9,000, a very modest amount for a record, and they’ve got eight days left. They’ve got a lot of cool and creative rewards for their Kickstarter backers, including an actual candle-light dinner.
And there’s a treat for Dot Punto. fans: our very own Katya sings background vocals on the song “Longing”.

We had a blast playing an extended set at the Grant & Green! Accompanied by our dancing Puntitas, we rocked out to our new musical creations as well as dusted off our old favorites. A big thank you to The Greening for inviting us to play and putting on this fun event! Another thank you to Hungry Skinny who opened the show and got the party started!
August 2nd, we’ll be playing with The Greening again! This time, we’ll be at the Milk Bar and joined by Posole and Hard Rich. Since we are opening, this means that our dance cards will be open for the rest of the evening…awwww yeah!
Thanks to Camilo Landau, who engineered and produced our Histórica EP, for setting us up with a show in his Ecclectica concert series! It’s at the Eric Quezada Center for Culture and Politics, 518 Valencia in SF. Show’s at 8! Update: Unfortunately, Hernandez’ Hideaway can’t make it, so it’s just us.
Thanks to Major Powers and the Lo-Fi Symphony, The Greening, and Tall Sheep for rockin’ the house with us at the Elbo Room last Wednesday! And thanks to everyone who came out and danced with the Luscious Ladies Dance Troupe! The crowd demanded una canción más, and you can hardly turn down a chance to jam on “Intoxicate”. The Greening, those friendly friends, invited us to play with them at their show on 13 July 2012 at the Grant & Green Saloon. We’ll be headlining — that’s how friendly these friends are! — and therefore go on at midnight. Oh yeah! We’ll be playing a loooong set, 75 minutes. Awesome!
